Duties
- Prepare individual, small business, and corporate tax returns with precision and attention to detail using Intuit Lacerte.
- Analyze financial documents, including W-2s, 1099s, receipts, and bank statements to ensure accurate reporting.
- Assist clients in understanding complex tax concepts and provide clear explanations of filing requirements and potential deductions.
- Conduct thorough data entry using 10-key typing skills to ensure accuracy in all documentation.
- Support the team with bookkeeping tasks, including maintaining organized records of client transactions and financial data.
- Utilize analysis skills to identify potential tax savings and ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with colleagues on technical accounting issues related to public accounting standards and corporate accounting practices.
Experience
- Prior experience in tax preparation or public accounting is highly desirable;
- Two years familiarity with Intuit Lacerte is a plus.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts, including basic math skills necessary for accurate calculations and analysis.
- Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service by effectively communicating complex financial information in a clear manner.
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage enhances efficiency in handling client records.
- Demonstrated sales or marketing skills are beneficial for promoting additional services or financial products when appropriate.
- Knowledge of technical accounting principles and bookkeeping practices ensures precise preparation of financial documents.
