**This position is an in-person, on-site position located in Rice County, MN
The Network & Systems Administrator possesses expert level knowledge and manages continuous improvement of the County’s information systems and their computer applications, with a high degree of efficiency and reliability. The Network & Systems Administrator analyzes needs and identifies or develops technology-based solutions for new systems or applications, enhancements, maintenance, and general needs. The Network & Systems Administrator undertakes and manages a variety of projects simultaneously and provides technical and process solutions to data or voice needs at the Department or overall County level, working with State and outside agencies as required to implement systems integration solutions. The Network & Systems Administrator acts as project lead and ticket escalation point for their assigned Departments.
This position requires an Associate’s degree in Information Technology or closely related field, and three to five years related experience. The experience will include current versions of Windows server, personal computer hardware and software, network troubleshooting and maintenance experience, or equivalent. Experience with server virtualization, script writing, and Microsoft 365. A valid driver’s license is required. Must successfully pass a finger-print based criminal history check and maintain annual certification through the BCA.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or closely related field, three to five years related experience. Microsoft, Project Management, network, and security Certifications are preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Within 30 days of hire, the Incumbent must become certified in CJIS Security and Awareness. Within six months of hire the Incumbent must become certified in Project Plus. Within one year of hire the incumbent must pass one Microsoft and become certified in Network Plus, and Security Plus or equivalent.HOURS: Must be available during normal business hours, Monday thru Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm. Position is fulltime, 40 hours per week.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: Non-Exempt / Non-Union / Grade 13
Provides application support and integration services. Provides network/user troubleshooting and support. Performs installation and maintenance of departmental application servers. Researches, recommends, and facilitates the implementation of system and process improvements. Monitors network and information systems for security vulnerabilities or breaches and take appropriate action to remediate or reduce risk. Manages network security to ensures confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive resources. Provides specific systems support and integration services. Track compliance with BCA, FBI, NIST and other relevant requirements. Serve as technology LASO or work closely with the assigned LASO for compliance requirements. Provides IT support for the PSAP as required by the SLA between Rice and Steele 911 Center Joint Powers Board. Facilitates website management and changes. Available to assist during all critical system events. Performs other duties as assigned.
