Job Summary

The Housing Office Support Specialist provides excellent customer service to residents of Rice County in an efficient, effective, respectful, and confidential manner, and connects them to the workers, programs, and resources they need. The Specialist also provides support to Rice County employees to enable them to do the same with pronounced communication and organizational skills. The Office Support Specialist assists clients in person, on the phone, by email, and fax to direct them to the best staff and available resources matched for their needs. Excellent communications skills are also used to de-escalate concerned and frustrated clients.
Examples of Duties
- Answers four-line receptionist phone, greets visitors, and performs receptionist duties for the Housing Department.
- Provides a variety of administrative support duties for Housing Department.
- Performs daily processing of incoming and outgoing mail.
- Performs recording keeping and filing responsibilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The position requires a high school diploma or general education degree, and one to three years of office experience, or equivalent.

HIRING RANGE / UNION: $22.59 - $23.61 per hour / GU Unit – Grade 5
HOURS: 20 hours per week. Typical business hours are Monday-Friday, between 8:00am to 4:30pm
