The Assistant Registrar will assist with the day-to-day operation of the Registrar's office with a focus on degree audit, curriculum, and academic standing. The Assistant Registrar will provide support to students to effectively plan, carry out and navigate the academic and administrative requirements of their degree path from matriculation through graduation. The Assistant Registrar will oversee the degree audit process and ensure that all program changes/academic curriculum requirements are current and maintained within the Academic Advising Report and degree audit system. The Assistant Registrar will serve as the Registrar's representative on Academic Standing Committee and facilitate reports for standing and appeals; as well as, serve as the Registrar's point person for student withdrawals, and leave of absences.

Essential Duties
- Oversee the Degree Audit system for the college.
- Supervise the Degree Audit and Graduation Specialists.
- In collaboration with the Degree Audit and Graduation Specialists, monitor student's academic progress and degree audits to completion (including additions, course substitutions, change of major, withdrawals, failures, etc.).
- Perform degree audits of graduation candidates, advising them of their status and necessary next steps.
- Assist with submittal of graduation applications and follow student's progress toward degree completion with consistent communication.
- Serve as the Registrar's point person for curriculum, in collaboration with the college's curriculum committee and division of academic affairs.
- Work with the chair of the Academic Standing Committee to execute the work of the committee, including creating agendas; scheduling meetings; serving as a resource for the petition process including meeting with and advising students who wish to appeal; notify students of action taken; and work closely with Registrar's team on updating student records in PeopleSoft.
- Evaluate student academic standing for the purposes of warning and/or dismissal from the college and provide in-person advisement as requested or needed.
- Support and help maintain the college's PeopleSoft academic advisement module.
- Manage the college's LOA and WD procedures for students, faculty and staff; including communication, distribution of data, and reporting.
- Assist academic advisors, chairs, faculty, staff and students on how to read, interpret and use the academic advisement report including degree, major and general education requirements.
- Support the daily operation of the Registrar's Office to boost the achievement of strategic goals and objectives for the department.
- Coordinate student records management for the college in accordance with college policy and established best practices.
- Meet with individual students, faculty, staff and chairs, and deans who have specific questions regarding academic policies and procedures or questions.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records and meetings with students in accordance with FERPA laws and regulations.
- Foster a positive work environment, focused on continuous improvement and first-class customer service.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Registrar.
Required Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities
- Bachelor's Degree
- Three years of records, registrar or academic advising experience in higher education.
- Fundamental understanding of FERPA laws and regulations.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and effective interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated analytical, planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well with a variety of campus personnel, and function in a team-oriented environment.
- Master's degree.
- Experience with student system degree audit modules such as PeopleSoft.
