Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Daycare Lead Teacher to oversee our early childhood education program from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for child development and a comprehensive understanding of early childhood education principles. As the Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment for children, implementing developmentally appropriate activities, and fostering positive relationships with families. Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum that promotes cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in children.
- Supervise and support assistant teachers and staff, ensuring effective classroom management and adherence to program standards.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of children's development and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Ensure all activities align with licensing requirements, mandated reporting laws, and best practices in early childhood education.
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere that respects diversity and promotes positive behavior management techniques.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to attendance, incident reports, and developmental records.
Experience
- Prior experience working with young children in a daycare or preschool setting is required.
- Demonstrated classroom management skills with the ability to create an organized learning environment.
- Knowledge of child development instruction, pediatric first aid, CPR certification, and mandated reporting laws is essential.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills for effective parent interaction and team collaboration.
- Background in early childhood education or related coursework is preferred.
- Previous roles involving toddler care, infant care, babysitting, nannying, or working with students will be considered valuable assets.
