What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Teacher(s) position at Infant Development Center?
Position Summary
We are seeking Assistant Teachers to support our Infant and Toddler classrooms. Assistant Teachers work closely with Lead Teachers to maintain safe, structured, and nurturing learning environments that support each child’s development.
This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with young children, value teamwork, and are committed to high-quality early childhood care and education.
Responsibilities
- Support Lead Teachers with daily classroom activities and routines
- Supervise children to ensure safety at all times
- Assist with lesson implementation and developmentally appropriate activities
- Support classroom transitions, meals, nap time, toileting, and diapering (as needed)
- Promote positive behavior and social-emotional development
- Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment
- Communicate professionally with families and team members
- Follow all licensing, health, and safety regulations
Classroom-Specific Support
Infant/Toddler :
- Provide responsive care and close supervision
- Support feeding, diapering, and nap routines
- Encourage language development and social skills through play (child development)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous childcare or early childhood experience preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to pass required state background checks
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred (Not Required)
- CDA coursework or Early Childhood Education training
- Experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
