Position Summary
At the direction of the Kitchen Manager or in their absence, with limited supervision, the Assistant Manager (AM) role supports the kitchen team members and kitchen manager. The incumbent should be a leader with a coaching attitude in helping the kitchen management team run efficient operations. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for food and equipment inventory, oversight of maintenance, and compliance with health and safety codes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Supervise kitchen staff and ensure that they follow all health and safety rules and regulations.
Support the manager with the development and implementation of a deep cleaning schedule to maintain a clean working kitchen.
Coordinate the cleaning and organization of kitchen and equipment
Provides direction and coaching for all kitchen staff including food preparation, production and safety and sanitation.
Support in preparing all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
Follow recipes and presentation specifications
Operate standard kitchen equipment safety and efficiently
Responsible for upkeep of inventory logs and submitting fulfillment requests to Kitchen Manager.
Ensure that all food items are properly labeled, stored and rotated as per food handling guidelines
Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes.
Support the manager in coordinating training and ongoing development of team members.
Support deliveries of meals, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
2 years of management experience in a commercial high-volume kitchen.
Valid CA Driver’s License and ability to be insured.
Valid food handlers card.
Ability to supervise a team.
Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to change.

Salary : $70,304 - $73,320
