Summary
The Front Desk Coordinator is the first point of contact for patients at the RGV Fatty Liver Clinic. This role is responsible for providing a welcoming and efficient check-in experience, coordinating appointments, and supporting daily clinic operations. The position requires strong communication, multitasking, and customer service skills in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Greet all patients and visitors with professionalism and empathy.
· Answer and route phone calls; respond to patient inquiries promptly.
· Schedule and confirm clinic, procedure, and FibroScan appointments using EMR scheduling tools.
· Manage new patient intake, verify insurance, and collect co-pays or balances.
· Prepare and update patient records and consent forms in compliance with HIPAA.
· Maintain front office organization, lobby cleanliness, and signage.
· Support referral coordination, faxing, and communication with referring provider offices.
· Assist with daily administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, and correspondence.
· Maintain supply inventory and coordinate maintenance of front desk equipment.
· Collaborate with clinical staff to optimize daily patient flow.
· Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in all communications.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree preferred.
· Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical front office or outpatient clinic.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
· Experience with EMR/EHR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
· Friendly, professional demeanor and ability to work in a team setting.
Work Environment
- Outpatient clinical office setting.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
- May involve occasional lifting of office materials up to 25 lbs.
