Located in the border city of Pharr, Texas, and established in 2008, RGV College was the vision of an educator and who has guided this institution’s growth into one of the most sought-after vocational schools in the Rio Grande Valley for its A grade level education.

General Statement of Job

The Custodian performs a wide variety of custodial duties in order to provide a clean, orderly and safe environment.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine and comprehensive custodial maintenance of assigned facilities.
• Secure and unlock facilities.
• Clean and disinfect all campus facilities (restrooms, offices, classrooms, labs and hallways ); stock facilities with paper and supplies.
• Vacuum and spot clean carpets and furniture; sweep and mops floors.
• Clean marker boards, desktops, windows, doors and walls.
• Collect and remove trash in accordance with established procedures.
• Report and respond to emergency calls for custodial assistance; reports security and maintenance concerns.
• Identify stains and uses proper chemicals for removal.
• Adhere to safety and health regulations.
• Maintain inventory and submit written requests for supplies; tests and evaluates new supplies and equipment.
• Move and assemble furniture.
• Set up for special events, as directed by supervisor(s).
• Perform other duties as assigned
