Position Summary
The Controls Engineer designs, programs, and commissions electrical control systems for custom automation and robotic applications. This role supports the full project lifecycle—from requirements and quoting through system build, testing, installation, and field support. Success requires strong programming skills, hands-on system integration experience, and the ability to work directly with customers and cross-functional teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Designs and programs PLC, motion control, robotics, and peripheral systems.
- Develops specifications from customer requirements and project scope.
- Creates and reviews electrical schematics, panel layouts, and system models.
- Supports quoting with accurate technical input and cost estimates.
- Leads system debug, testing, commissioning, and customer acceptance.
- Ensures compliance with electrical, performance, and safety standards.
- Maintains documentation to include BOMs, wiring diagrams, manuals, and specs.
- Provides engineering support during fabrication, assembly, and field service.
- Remains current on controls, industrial communication, and robotics technologies.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong PLC, robotics, and motion programming background.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical; SolidWorks exposure preferred.
- Understanding of motors, sensors, industrial networks, and system integration.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Effective communicator with customers and team members.
- Decisive, organized, and capable of working independently.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 5 years of engineering design experience required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Salary : $85,000 - $90,000
