Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Office Manager / Bookkeeper with experience in the construction industry. This role is critical in supporting daily office operations, managing financial records, and ensuring smooth coordination between administration, project management, and accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day office operations and administrative tasks
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process invoices, purchase orders, and subcontractor payments
- Perform job costing and track project expenses
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor statements
- Assist with monthly financial reporting and budgeting
- Maintain organized project files and documentation
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate cost tracking
- Assist with payroll processing and employee records
- Support billing processes, including progress billing and lien releases
- Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and clients as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience working for a General Contractor or within the construction industry
- Strong understanding of construction accounting practices and job costing
- Experience with Sage 50 or other Sage accounting software (required)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with construction management software
- Knowledge of AIA billing and lien law requirements
- Experience working with subcontractors and vendor compliance
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
