What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Assistant Golf Professional - Oconee Golf Course position at Reynolds Lake Oconee?
Responsibilities:
- Assists in overseeing the daily operations.
- Assist with training of new and existing staff.
- Assists in managing outside golf operations staff.
- Ensures golf car fleet is maintained.
- Ensures practice facility is maintained.
- Assists in managing golf shop retail staff.
- Assists in the golf shop merchandise purchasing.
- Ensures all merchandise levels are maintained.
- Ensures golf shop is kept clean and organized.
- Works with daily, monthly, and annual financial records.
- Assists with daily, monthly, and annual round counts and budgeting.
- Uses Reynolds Lake Oconee purchase order systems.
- Maintains levels of supplies for operation.
- Enforces rules of golf and rules of Reynolds Lake Oconee.
- Assists with tournament operations of all member events.
- Assists with the tournament operations of Corporate Golf Events.
- Provides golf instruction.
- Monitors and maintains the honor stations at Creek Club.
- Maintains the continental breakfast provided daily at Creek Club.
Lead Assistant Professional Duties:
- Oversight of the operation in the absence of the head professional
- Coordinate the merchandising efforts, including supervision of the retail staff
- Involvement in the budgeting and forecasting of the entire operation
- Mentor the assistant professional on staff in preparation for that individual one day moving into a lead role
- Assist assistant professional in managing outside staff
- Instruction of members and guests (once certification is attained)
- Main contact with other department heads
- Member tournament coordination
- Corporate Golf liaison.
Qualifications:
- PGA member desired, minimum of began Level II PGA/PGM education.
- Previous experience with a golf facility operation.
- Good computer skills to include experience in Word, Excel, and POS.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Experience in Golf Instruction to include Jr. Program and personal play.
- 1-2 years management experience.
- Must have a driver’s license with a good MVR.
