What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Office Assistant/Junior Estimator position at Reyka Drywall?
We are a fast-paced drywall contracting company looking for a sharp, reliable Construction Office Assistant/Junior Estimator. This role is a bridge between the field and the office, helping ensure our bids are accurate and our projects stay on schedule.
We are looking for a "completionist", someone who takes pride in finishing a task accurately and doesn't need constant reminders. If you are good with numbers, comfortable behind a screen, and enjoy a mix of administrative and technical work, you will thrive here.
Responsibilities
- Estimating: Use mathematical formulas to perform material take-offs (calculating square footage, drywall sheet counts, and bead requirements) from blueprints or information provided from site visits. Experience in this area is not required, but mathematical and desktop computer capabilities are. We are willing to train the right person.
- Digital Organization: Manage project data, update spreadsheets, and maintain our digital filing system.
- Sales Support: Assist in drafting formal quotes and following up with clients via email and phone. Should be able to deal with clients who need extra attention and not shy away from difficult conversations.
- Project Tracking: Monitor project progress and assist in ordering materials based on calculated needs.
- Office Organization: Help create and maintain systems to keep our small office/warehouse stocked and organized.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Mathematical Competence: You must be comfortable with intermediate math (fractions, decimals, and geometry) to accurately calculate material quantities and project costs.
- Strong Computer Skills: Proficiency in Google Drive is essential. You should be able to navigate new software quickly.
- Self-Management: Proven ability to stay on task and meet deadlines without direct supervision.
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy is critical in estimating; you must be able to catch small errors before they become big problems.
- Communication: Professional verbal and written skills.
- Language: Spanish proficiency is a strong plus, but not required.
- Experience: Previous construction or estimating experience is a plus, but we are willing to train someone with high math/computer aptitude.
Salary : $20 - $25
