Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all store operations, including sales, inventory control, merchandising, and customer service standards.
• Recruit, interview, onboard, and train team members to build a motivated and knowledgeable retail sales team.
• Manage employee schedules, Event plannings, Marketing, shift assignments, and payroll processing to ensure optimal coverage and operational efficiency.
• Oversee purchasing decisions, pricing strategies, and stock management to maintain product availability and profitability.
• Implement inventory management systems to track stock levels, conduct regular audits, and control shrinkage.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and fostering positive relationships with clients.
• Utilize POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions such as cashiering, sales processing, and cash handling with accuracy.
• Develop staff through ongoing training & development programs focused on retail industry best practices and pet care knowledge.
• Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in compliance with company policies.
• Support marketing efforts by merchandising products effectively and executing promotional campaigns.

Qualifications

• Proven management experience within the retail industry or pet store environment; supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of retail sales techniques, inventory management, POS systems, and operational procedures.
• Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage employee performance effectively.
• Experience in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding new employees, and conducting training sessions.
• Skilled in budgeting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and basic math for financial accuracy.
• Familiarity with retail math concepts such as pricing strategies and sales analysis; previous assistant manager experience is advantageous.
• Knowledge of pet products, animal care essentials, and retail merchandising best practices.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to enhance client satisfaction.

Pay: $47,000.00 - $53,000.00 per year
