Role: IT Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager for a 6-month onsite contract in Tallahassee, FL. Candidates with prior project management experience supporting state agencies are strongly preferred.
The Project Manager will coordinate work across software developers, business analysts, data teams, and various technical groups including DevOps, DBAs, Network Administration, and Architecture. This role is responsible for managing project plans, tracking progress, resolving issues, and ensuring effective communication across stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include leading requirements-gathering sessions, documenting user requirements, creating process maps and traceability matrices, facilitating design discussions, assisting with business process redesign, and supporting testing activities. The PM must manage multiple concurrent projects, coordinate resources, maintain strong customer relationships, and ensure adherence to project management standards.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5 years of IT project management experience on medium-to-large software development projects
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong understanding of SDLC (Waterfall, Agile, Iterative)
- Ability to create project plans, analyze data, resolve issues, and manage schedules
- Excellent communication, documentation, interpersonal, and customer-facing skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively
Preferred:
- PMP certification
- Experience with Microsoft Project
- Experience supporting state agency projects
- Strong analytical, requirements-gathering, and testing coordination skills
