Job Summary
We are looking for an on‑site Copier and Printer Field Technician to support a large enterprise print environment at Fort Moore (Fort Benning area) in Columbus, GA. This 12‑month W2 contract has strong potential for ongoing extensions and long‑term stability. You’ll be the on‑site expert responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing multifunction devices (MFDs) while keeping end users up and running with minimal downtime.
Pay and position details
- Pay range: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour (W2), market‑competitive based on experience
- Employment type: Full‑time, Contract
- Duration: 12‑month contract with potential for multi‑year extensions
- Work model: On‑site at Fort Moore, near Columbus, GA
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard daytime hours (typically 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.), 40 hours per week
- PTO: Role follows “hours worked, hours paid” model

What you’ll do
- Install, configure, and maintain MFD printer and copier equipment to meet site and customer requirements.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, mechanical, and basic connectivity issues, keeping devices within published performance specs.
- Perform break/fix work (rollers, belts, fusers, sensors, print quality issues, etc.) and confirm devices are fully operational before leaving the site.
- Manage and close service calls in multiple systems, documenting work performed, parts used, and call status in line with SLAs.
- Communicate clearly with end users on issue status, estimated arrival times, and resolution updates.
- Provide basic user training and product briefings so customers know how to use key features and avoid common issues.
- Monitor parts and consumable usage, help track inventory, and flag replenishment needs.
- Represent the company professionally on‑site, maintaining a clean work area and a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Support occasional special projects or implementations as assigned.
Must‑have qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in field service, technical support, or a similar customer‑facing hardware role.
- Hands‑on experience servicing printers, copiers, MFDs, or similar imaging devices.
- Strong electro‑mechanical aptitude and comfort working with small mechanical assemblies and electrical components.
- Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
- Comfortable using computers and common administrative tools to manage tickets, document work, and look up parts.
- Ability to regularly lift and move equipment up to 60 lbs.
Preferred skills and attributes
- Experience in an enterprise, government, or campus‑style environment.
- Familiarity with basic networking concepts (print queues, IP addresses, drivers) is helpful.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a customer‑first mindset.
- Quick learner with a proactive, problem‑solver attitude and the ability to work independently on‑site.
Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
