About the Role
Our client, an established RIA built by advisors, for advisors, is seeking a Regional Director, BDG to help grow its national network of independent financial advisors. This is a relationship-driven, sales-oriented role focused on identifying and recruiting high-performing advisors and advisor teams serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
The ideal candidate is polished, highly self-motivated, and able to build trust with successful advisors. They should bring experience in financial services, advisor recruiting, business development, or consultative sales, along with a strong understanding of the wealth management landscape.
What You’ll Do
- Recruit qualified financial advisors and advisor teams within an assigned territory, with a focus on practices serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients
- Build new recruiting opportunities through proactive outreach, referral development, and consistent market activity
- Own and manage Salesforce leads from initial outreach through ongoing follow-up, keeping advisor conversations organized and moving forward
- Use a consultative sales approach to understand each advisor’s business, growth goals, client base, and potential alignment with the platform
- Prepare and deliver thoughtful business presentations that clearly communicate the firm’s value proposition and help advisors evaluate the opportunity
- Maintain strong, high-touch relationships with prospective and current advisors in the territory to support active recruiting conversations and referral opportunities
- Partner with internal leaders to develop territory strategy, recruiting plans, and business development priorities that support growth goals
- Represent our client professionally at industry events, advisor meetings, conferences, and other market-facing opportunities
- Coordinate and host home office visits, ensuring prospective advisors have a polished, well-prepared experience with the firm
- Stay current on industry trends, advisor movement, competitive platforms, and the evolving wealth management landscape
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of five years of experience in financial services, ideally in a sales, recruiting, business development, or relationship management role
- Experience recruiting financial advisors or working closely with advisor teams is strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of the wealth management landscape, including how advisors evaluate platforms, independence, client service, and growth opportunities
- Ability to manage a complex, relationship-driven sales process with sophisticated financial professionals
- Series 7 license required
- Experience using Salesforce or another CRM to manage outreach, pipeline activity, and ongoing relationship tracking is preferred
- Excellent communicator with the polish, confidence, and credibility to represent a high-caliber platform in conversations with sophisticated advisors and senior stakeholders
- Highly self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to create opportunities rather than wait for leads to be handed over
- Strong organizational skills and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple advisor relationships and active recruiting conversations at once
- Comfortable with cold outreach, travel, industry events, and in-person relationship building
