Job Description
Freedom Ministries is seeking a dependable, compassionate Cook to prepare meals for the men participating in our faith-based residential recovery program in New Holland, Pennsylvania.
Our ministry provides a Christ-centered environment where men can find hope, healing, and a new direction in life as they work toward freedom from addiction.
We are looking for someone who enjoys cooking, takes pride in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and appreciates the opportunity to make a meaningful difference through everyday service.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious, satisfying meals for residents and staff as needed.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen and food preparation area.
- Follow proper food handling, storage, and safety procedures.
- Assist with meal planning, inventory, and efficient use of food supplies.
- Help minimize food waste while maintaining quality meals.
- Work cooperatively with ministry staff and residents.
- Contribute to a respectful, encouraging, and welcoming environment.
Qualifications
- Previous cooking or food service experience preferred.
- Ability to prepare meals for groups of people.
- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
- Dependable, organized, and able to work independently.
- Comfortable working in a Christian, faith-based ministry environment.
- Respectful and compassionate toward individuals recovering from addiction.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine kitchen duties.
- Food Handler Certificate
Work Schedule
This position offers full-time or part-time hours, working Wednesday through Saturday each week. Specific hours and scheduling will be discussed during the interview process.
