A confidential aerospace and defense supply-chain organization is seeking a skilled Supplier Specialist to manage key manufacturing partners and drive on-time delivery for mission-critical components. This position offers the chance to work directly with suppliers supporting major defense programs while contributing to continuous improvement and risk management in a dynamic production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Build strong partnership relationships with assigned suppliers to meet customer requirements.
Manage supplier Open Order Reports to minimize risk and improve delivery performance.
Track and analyze delivery trends; initiate root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Facilitate cross-functional communication to prevent production delays.
Work with challenging sub-tier suppliers to establish achievable production commitments.
Provide frequent written updates on mission-critical parts and overall delivery performance.
Drive timely closure of corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Travel locally/regionally as needed to supplier sites.
Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship required to meet federal export and security regulations.
Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience (Aerospace, Defense, Shipbuilding, or related industry preferred).
Expertise in Supply Chain Management, Production Control, and Shop Floor Management.
VantageClear Certification or equivalent (e.g., active U.S. security clearance, or similar defense-industry credential) required
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Risk Management, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement practices (preferred).
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to make independent decisions, analyze complex data, and drive corrective actions.
