Our client is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to join its Facilities team in Flint, Michigan.
This isn’t residential service work. You’ll be part of the team responsible for maintaining the heating, cooling, ventilation and refrigeration systems that support a complex healthcare environment every day.
• $28–$31/hour, based on experience and qualifications
• Lead opportunities may provide up to an additional $2/hour

What You’ll Work On
You’ll perform skilled installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems throughout the Medical Center, including:
• Heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems
• Refrigeration systems
• Compressors, condensers, pumps and piping
• Climate controls and heat-transfer systems
• Pneumatic and electrical controls
• System testing, balancing and operational troubleshooting
• Emergency repairs and equipment adjustments
You may also fabricate or modify components, work from blueprints and specifications, assist with system improvements, and coordinate projects with other skilled trades.
What We’re Looking For
Candidates should have a strong mechanical background and hands-on experience troubleshooting HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
You may qualify through either of these paths:
• Journeyman-level Plumber or Pipefitter with documented HVAC training; OR
• At least 4 years of Building Trades, Maintenance or Industrial repair experience, along with completion of an approved Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration program.
Preferred but not required:
• EPA-approved certification for refrigerant handling
• Ability to troubleshoot HVAC and refrigeration systems
• Working knowledge of warm-air and hydronic heating systems
Warm Air or Hydronics Heating License is not required at hire, but must be obtained within two years of employment.
