Journeyman Electrician – Healthcare Facilities

We're seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician to join our Facilities team in Flint. This is much more than routine electrical maintenance. You’ll work throughout a complex healthcare environment, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing the electrical systems and equipment that keep a major medical facility operating safely and reliably.

What You’ll Work On
You’ll perform and assist with installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair involving:
• Electrical wiring and conduit
• Motors and transformers
• Lighting and electrical control devices
• Meters, timing controls and electrically operated equipment
• Card access systems
• Paging systems
• Nurse call systems
• Parking and facility systems
• Electrical control systems and industrial instruments
You’ll diagnose electrical problems using appropriate testing equipment, locate open and short circuits, perform emergency repairs and inspect electrical systems for hazards, defects and code compliance.
The role may also include helping plan electrical installations, coordinating work with other skilled trades, and providing guidance and training to electrical apprentices and helpers.
What We’re Looking For
This opportunity is designed for an experienced electrician who is comfortable troubleshooting complex systems and working independently within an active commercial or institutional environment.
Qualified candidates should have:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Journeyman Electrician experience or completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship
• Valid State of Michigan Electrician’s License
• Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems and equipment
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals and specifications
• Strong knowledge of the tools, materials, equipment and safety practices of the electrical trade
• Ability to work safely on elevated surfaces and in confined areas
