Role Overview
The client is looking for a software engineer who is passionate about front-end development, user-interface design, and typed functional programming. This person will help design and implement the next generation of browser-based tools used to operate trading infrastructure, building for expert users who require polished, flexible, and powerful interfaces.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement sophisticated browser-based tools for operating trading infrastructure, with a strong focus on elegant and highly usable user interfaces.
- Create libraries and abstractions that capture common interaction patterns and improve firm-wide UI development practices.
- Work across multiple parts of the stack, including front ends, back ends, middleware, and databases, while collaborating closely with traders and other end users to understand their needs.
Who You Are
- Strong background in web technologies, including browser fundamentals such as CSS and the DOM, plus an understanding of UI framework principles across tools such as Vue, Angular, React, and Flutter.
- Practical experience building sophisticated browser-based UIs, with an appreciation for the detailed polish needed to create elegant and highly usable products.
- Interest in and appreciation of typed functional programming as an approach to UI construction; experience with Elm, ReasonML, PureScript, or TypeScript is a plus.
Compensation
- Salary: $200,000 - $300,000 per year
- Base salary is one part of total compensation, which also includes an annual discretionary bonus.
