The team produces high-quality, entertaining, and educational longform video content that inspires millions of viewers every week through storytelling, creativity, and culinary innovation.
Role Overview:
This role is for a highly musical, detail-oriented Music Editor who understands how sound and music shape emotion, pacing, and storytelling in video content. The Music Editor will play a critical role in elevating videos through thoughtful music selection, precise editing, and strong sound design, working in a fast-paced production environment with a heavy focus on YouTube content. The ideal candidate lives and breathes music, has exceptional taste across genres, and knows how to use music to enhance retention, comedy, tension, and emotional beats. This role requires both creative instincts and technical excellence in audio post-production.
What You'll Do:
- Select, edit, and customize music tracks to support emotion, pacing, and narrative in video content
- Shape timing, transitions, builds, drops, and comedic beats to elevate storytelling and audience engagement
- Collaborate closely with video editors and producers to align music and sound with creative intent
- Perform music editing, sound design, and audio mixing to ensure high-quality, polished final outputs
- Source music and sound effects, cutting and adapting tracks to fit scenes seamlessly
- Maintain consistent audio levels, clean transitions, and cohesive sound across videos
- Optimize audio for YouTube, with an understanding of platform-specific pacing, retention, and audience behavior
- Incorporate feedback efficiently while maintaining creative integrity in a high-volume production workflow
Who You Are:
- 3–5 years of professional experience in music editing, audio post-production, or sound design for YouTube, TV, or film
- Deep understanding of how music impacts storytelling, emotional resonance, and viewer retention—especially on YouTube
- Strong musical instincts and taste across a wide range of genres, moods, and tempos
- Advanced proficiency with audio tools such as Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Logic, or similar DAWs
- Highly detail-oriented, with excellent control over timing, transitions, audio levels, and consistency
- Comfortable sourcing, editing, and manipulating music to fit specific creative needs
- Collaborative by nature, with experience working closely alongside editors and producers
- Open to creative feedback and capable of iterating quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Degree in music, audio engineering, sound design, or a related field (preferred)
Nice to Have:
- Experience with original composition
- Familiarity with sound effects libraries and stem-based editing
- Experience delivering final mixes for broadcast or digital platforms
