Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Worker to join our outdoor grounds and facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety, appearance, and functionality of outdoor spaces and infrastructure. Your expertise in landscape maintenance, groundskeeping, and equipment operation will ensure our environment remains inviting, well-kept, and compliant with safety standards. Duties
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing lawns, pruning trees, planting flowers, and caring for gardens to enhance aesthetic appeal.
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting, repairing, and adjusting sprinklers to ensure proper watering schedules.
- Conduct routine inspections of outdoor areas to identify hazards or needed repairs; perform snow plowing and hardscape maintenance during winter months.
- Manage pest control activities by identifying pests and applying appropriate pesticide treatments following safety protocols.
- Assist with tree care activities including trimming, fertilizing, and planting to promote healthy growth.
- Follow all safety procedures diligently while handling tools and equipment to prevent accidents or injuries.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in outdoor work environments with knowledge of landscape maintenance and groundskeeping practices.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and landscaping equipment safely.
- Familiarity with horticulture principles, plant identification, and plant care techniques.
- Experience managing irrigation systems and performing basic repairs or adjustments.
- Knowledge of pesticide management protocols and safety standards related to chemical application.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy materials, operating machinery, and working in various weather conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to safety protocol adherence and quality workmanship.
