Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: Prior experience in customer service or a financial/patient accounts role, preferably within a healthcare environment.
- Knowledge: Foundational understanding of medical billing practices and insurance terminology.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data entry and navigating complex computer systems/electronic health records (EHR).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Advocacy: Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries regarding account balances, billing statements, and customized payment plans.
- Insurance Verification: Confirm patient insurance coverage and eligibility to facilitate accurate billing and reduce the likelihood of claim denials.
- Financial Processing: Accurately manage payments, account adjustments, and refunds within the financial system.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with billing, insurance, and collections departments to resolve complex account discrepancies.
- Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of all patient interactions and account updates in strict accordance with privacy regulations and HIPAA standards.
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
