What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmic Scribe- Retina position at Retina Specialist of Colorado?
Retina Specialists of Colorado is a rapidly growing, retina only ophthalmic practice. We have locations in Aurora, Denver, Centennial, Highlands Ranch, and Arvada. We are looking for an ophthalmic scribe to join our team. This position will also work as a technician as needed in the clinic. Scribes will be expected to be able to travel to any location as assigned and have a reliable vehicle.
The ophthalmic scribe will work directly with any of our four physicians in their clinics, entering patient visit data into the EMR chart (Nextech IntellechartPro.) Scribes are also responsible for preparing prior to clinic to ensure that patients are scheduled correctly and communicating with the revenue cycle team for prior authoriations and/or patient billing questions. The scribe will assist with preparing patients for procedures including consenting and signing up for copay programs. When working as a technician, the work will consist of taking medical history, checking vision, eye pressure, retinal scans, and assisting with procedure prep.
