Entry Level Product Developer

JOB DETAILS

We are seeking a skilled, innovative, and driven Product Developer to support in the design, development, and implementation of new products and enhancements to existing products. This role executes engineering activities that ensure products are built efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the highest quality standards. Expect to spend time doing hands on assembly and fabrication, as well as CAD and other computer-based work. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment and demonstrates strong technical expertise and problem-solving skills. We are searching for someone who has a talent for creative yet functional design, who preferably has experience in, or a passion for, the automotive world.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, test, and improve retrofit designs for automotive A/C systems and components using AutoCAD, Fusion, and Peel 3D
• Safely operate hand and power tools for assembly and fabrication
• Create prototypes via 3D printing, CNC machining, plasma cutting, laser cutting, and handmaking
• Troubleshoot and resolve design issues
• Collaborate with engineering team throughout development process
• Create and maintain manufacturing and assembly documentation, including 3D models, technical drawings, bill of materials, and instruction manuals
• Collaborate with purchasing department to communicate with vendors about manufacturing requirements, approval of quotes and sample parts, and resolution of incorrectly manufactured product
• Support process development, tooling design, and production methods
• Communicate with purchasing, production, marketing, and sales teams about new and improved products

REQUIREMENTS

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Fusion, and technical drawing
• Strong problem solving and communication skills
• Analytical with high attention to detail
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and tolerances
• Proficient knowledge and experience with hand and power tools
• Eager to learn/develop new skills and processes
• Flexible and able to adapt to a dynamic environment
• Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
