Position Summary: The Bus Driver will be responsible for safely transporting passengers to their destinations on assigned bus routes, ensuring a comfortable and timely journey. In addition to safely transporting residents, the driver may assist with outings, run errands, and support the life enrichment staff with programming when not driving.

Position Summary: The Bus Driver will be responsible for safely transporting passengers to their destinations on assigned bus routes, ensuring a comfortable and timely journey. In addition to safely transporting residents, the driver may assist with outings, run errands, and support the life enrichment staff with programming when not driving.
Essential Responsibilities
- Operate a bus and follow designated routes and schedules.
- Ensure the safety of passengers during transit, including adherence to traffic rules and regulations
- Assist passengers in boarding and disembarking the bus, ensuring a courteous and helpful attitude.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, providing information about outings and schedules.
- Assist activity departments with set-up and/or take-down for events and any other department needs.
- Maintain a clean and well-maintained bus interior, including regular cleaning and reporting any maintenance or repair needs.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or unusual circumstances to the appropriate authorities or supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records of routes, passenger counts, and any incidents or delays.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including punctuality and professional appearance.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating a bus.
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
- Previous experience as a bus driver preferred.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
- Ability to climb stairs and assist passengers with boarding and disembarking.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for handling luggage or other items as required.
- Good vision and hearing capabilities to ensure safe operation of the bus.
