We are building a relationship-driven growth model rooted in trust, credibility, and providing business growth outcomes and not just efforts. This role is the first business development hire in the organization and plays a foundational role in Resplendent’s expansion strategy.
Role Summary
The Business Development Executive is responsible for prospecting, relationship-building, and lead/meeting generation with hospitality and lifestyle businesses across the Austin and broader Central Texas market.
This is a Contract to Hire (1099 to begin) role designed for a high-autonomy, high-ownership professional who thrives in relationship-based sales. This role is located in Austin, Tx and requires in person meetings as needed. The core objective of the role is simple:
Get qualified decision-makers into meetings with the CEO — and help drive closed business.
This is not transactional sales.
This is connection-driven business development.
You will build relationships with owners, GMs, operators, founders, and executive leaders, understand their business needs, and position Resplendent as a premium growth partner.
Formal experience in business development or sales is needed and experience with PR or Marketing Agencies is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Market Development & Prospecting- Identify and engage hospitality, lifestyle, and multi-location brands in Austin, San Antonio and Central Texas and have ownership of the business development lifecycle
- Build relationships with owners, GMs, operators, decision-makers, and executive stakeholders
- Develop a local market presence through authentic connection,through digital outreach, networking, and referrals
- Create warm pathways into organizations through trust-based outreach through a variety of touch points.
- Use CRM (Hubspot) and sales outreach tools daily
- Build long-term relationships — not just transactional conversations
- Understand business challenges in our market segments and growth goals
- Identify brand, PR, social, and visibility gaps
- Position Resplendent’s services as solutions aligned to real business needs
- Secure qualified meetings weekly with decision-makers for the CEO
- Ensure meetings are well-positioned, relevant, and aligned to real opportunities (BANT)
- Prepare warm handoffs with context, insights, and relationship background
- Attend 100% of meetings you book
- Partner with leadership to refine messaging, targeting, and market strategy
- Provide market intelligence and insights from the field
- Support deal flow from first contact through close
Compensation Structure
This role includes multiple earning pathways, with on target earnings of 60-80k year 1:
- Commission on closed business
- Fixed bi-weekly pay for administrative work associated with this role
This creates income through both activity and outcomes, rewarding relationship-building and deal flow generation.
High performers will have the opportunity to transition into a salary with benefits role once specific revenue and performance milestones are achieved.
