GENERAL DESCRIPTION/PURPOSE
The Director of Development is an energetic and goal-oriented leader, who effectively builds and manages the development team and board committee, while establishing and nurturing relationships with major donors, community leaders, key partners, board members, team members and volunteers. This leadership role amplifies awareness of the mission and creates opportunities to expand the impact and growth of the organization. The Director will also display a high level of professionalism, political savvy, emotional intelligence, and have a proven track record of raising funds from various sources.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
− Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to meet the organization’s annual revenue goals, that also ties to the organization’s strategic planning process.
− Identify and cultivate major gift prospects, as well as corporate and foundation donors.
− Plan and execute special events that engage donors and raise funds for the organization.
− Provide oversight into the grant process, including prospect research, applications, relationship-building, reporting and monitoring outcomes.
− Create intentional pathways to develop long-lasting donor relationships, where the mission is always at the forefront.
− Manage and lead a team of development professionals, providing guidance, training, and support as needed. Ensure the team is aligned to the mission, vision, and values.
− Manage communication channels (website, social media, public relations, newsletters) to develop and execute effective donor communication. Ensure supportive marketing materials are available to promote services to the community.
− Develop and implement performance metrics and evaluation tools to ensure the team’s performance meets or exceeds fundraising targets and other organizational goals. Utilize a donor database and tracking systems effectively that accurately report out metrics. Adjust strategies as the data informs our path.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
− Must be 21 years of age or older and have favorable findings on background checks to include the Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Department of Health, and Texas Department of Family and Protective Services criminal record checks and negative drug test and negative TB test.
− Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communication, public relations, education, social work, or a related field.
− Minimum experience of 5-7 years of senior-level fundraising experience in a comprehensive development program.
− Certifications: CFRE preferred
Salary : $92,000 - $95,000
