What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Project Manager position at Resource Options Inc.?
Responsibilities:
- Plan, manage, and prepare Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) including site inspections, historical records review, and report preparation.
- Design and implement Phase II ESA field investigations, including soil, groundwater, and soil vapor sampling programs.
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, drilling operations, and analytical laboratories during fieldwork.
- Evaluate analytical data and prepare technical reports, including data summaries, figures, and conclusions regarding potential environmental impacts and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, and indoor air quality assessments for a range of commercial, industrial, and residential properties.
- Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, and schedules, ensuring quality deliverables and adherence to client and regulatory requirements.
- Provide clients with technical consulting and regulatory guidance related to site contamination, remediation strategies, and redevelopment planning.
- Maintain clear communication with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal team members to ensure project success.
- Support proposal development, cost estimating, and business development activities as needed.
- Perform site visits throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire using a company vehicle.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field required.
- 3–5 years of experience conducting and managing Phase I and Phase II ESAs, environmental consulting, or related project management work.
- Massachusetts Asbestos Inspector License required; additional state licenses (RI, NH) and certifications (HAZWOPER, OSHA 40-hour) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations, including MCP (Massachusetts Contingency Plan), ASTM, and EPA guidelines.
- Demonstrated experience with environmental data evaluation, report preparation, and regulatory documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and working knowledge of CAD, GIS, or environmental database software preferred.
- Excellent technical writing, analytical, and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally to project sites.
- Ability to perform fieldwork in varying conditions and use required PPE safely.
Pay Rate: $35.00/hr. - $45.00/hr. (depending on experience)
