Position Summary:
Resource Management Systems, Inc. (RMS) is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Dispatcher to support daily operations for our non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) services in Staunton, Virginia. This role is responsible for coordinating driver routes, ensuring timely service delivery, and maintaining effective communication between drivers, clients, and management.
**This position is a safety sensitive position and will require the ability to pass DOT required screenings**.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and assign trips to drivers based on scheduling and routing needs
- Monitor routes in real-time and adjust assignments as needed to ensure on-time performance
- Communicate with drivers regarding schedule updates, delays, and operational issues
- Maintain accurate trip records, logs, and dispatch documentation
- Utilize routing and dispatch systems to manage daily operations
- Respond to client inquiries and resolve service concerns professionally
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with operations and management to improve service efficiency
- Assist with reporting, data entry, and administrative tasks as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous dispatch, scheduling, or logistics experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency (routing systems, data entry, email communication)
- Ability to pass DOT drug and alcohol screening
- Ability to pass criminal background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in transportation or NEMT operations but not required
- Familiarity with routing software
- Knowledge of geographic service areas and route optimization
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Primarily office-based with extended periods of sitting
- Frequent use of computers, phones, and dispatch systems
- Occasional high-pressure situations requiring quick decision-making
