Shift Schedule: Monday–Thursday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; Friday 6:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
Work Location: On-Site (Production Facility)
Reports To: Production Manager / General Manager
Job Summary
The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for inspecting completed wheelchair-accessible vans and upfit vehicles after production to ensure all work meets ADAboy’s quality, safety, and ADA compliance standards. This role verifies that installations are accurate, functional, and customer-ready prior to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform final quality inspections of completed vehicles, including accessibility systems, interior components, and safety equipment.
- Verify all lifts, ramps, securement systems, electrical interlocks, and mobility components function properly.
- Inspect workmanship, fit/finish, trim, flooring, and overall vehicle presentation prior to delivery.
- Confirm builds meet ADA standards, manufacturer requirements, and ADAboy SOPs.
- Document inspection results, defects, and rework needs clearly and accurately.
- Coordinate with Production and Service teams to ensure issues are corrected promptly.
- Perform road tests or operational checks when required to validate safe vehicle performance.
- Maintain inspection checklists, quality records, and compliance documentation.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring quality issues and recommending corrective actions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant QC work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall shop operations.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in automotive inspection, quality control, vehicle upfitting, or related technical work preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to read work orders, build specs, and installation documentation.
- Familiarity with ADA mobility equipment (lifts, ramps, restraints) preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required for vehicle testing and movement.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with production teams.
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and committed to high-quality workmanship.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in and around vehicles for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move components or tools up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a shop environment with noise, dust, and tools.
