Job Purpose
Environmental Consulting is one of Resource Environmental Management’s three business lines. The
Manager Environmental Consulting is responsible for the day-to-day operation of this business line,
relationships with clients and staff administration and development.
Essential Functions
Manage the Environmental Consulting team to deliver work safely, on budget and time, and to an
acceptable level of quality:
- Assign projects to staff and ensure that safety, cost, time and quality targets are met
- Meet with clients regularly to provide project updates and offer additional services
- Completion of spill plans, environmental site assessments, permit application packages,
various reports, and other environmental compliance related projects that arise

- Review and approve deliverables prior to submission to customers and/or regulatory
agencies
- Coordinate with Professional Engineers and qualified inspectors for projects requiring
certification
- Ensure that team members remain current on their training and certification.
- Maintain team schedules – working, on-call, leave and training
- Perform quarterly check ins and annual performance reviews for team members
Create and maintain standards and best practices for the Environmental Consulting team to
ensure that team members are clear on what is expected of them and have guidance on how to
perform their work:

- Serving Resource and its clients competently
- Collecting facts and making observations autonomously
- Honest and accurate data reporting
Train and mentor Environmental Consulting team staff to ensure that team members have access
to the training they need and the opportunity to develop professionally through varied and
engaging work:

- Review individual staff personal development plans on an annual basis, or on request.
- Provide job training as required
- Provide recommendations on external training for staff.
Maintain established client relationships to ensure that our clients remain happy with our
performance, we have a sense of our client’s business outlook, and that we can take full
advantage of any opportunity to secure additional work.
4 • Maintain relationships with key clients
- Assign team members to act as relationship managers for the other clients and monitor
performance.
Contribute to recruitment and succession planning processes to ensure that we have access to a
pipeline of high-quality staff and that we are able to fill vacancies through internal promotion
wherever possible.
5 • Participate in workforce planning exercises
- Review and approve job descriptions for the team.
- Interview and provide feedback potential candidates
- Create and maintain a succession plan
6 Support business development activities to grow our top line.
- Participate in business development meetings as required.
Participate in annual business planning process to maintain alignment between the business line
and the company as a whole.

Job Specification Requirements
Education Bachelor’s degree in science related field or equivalent
Certifications CHMM, AHMM, PMP preferred
Experience 10 years of experience in environmental consulting
Professional Experience in environmental consulting
knowledge, skills Experience and ability to work in various settings (midstream and upstream oil &
and capabilities gas industry, manufacturing, construction, mine sites)
PC proficiency Microsoft Office suite
