Role: SAP Supply Chain & Logistics Sr. Engineer

The SAP Supply Chain & Logistics Engineer will be a key member of the SHL Medical team supporting the operations . This Engineer will further implement and optimize client's supply chain and logistics setup by analyzing the current processes and coordinating the implementation of integrated ERP solutions.
This is a techno-functional role, requiring a thorough understanding of supply chain, logistics, and quality processes in a contract manufacturing environment, together with its implementation into an SAP S4HANA ERP system. This role will work closely in lock step with our global IT Supply Chain & Logistics team located across Taiwan, Europe, and Charleston, SC. They will partner with local Business Process Owners (BPOs) and system Key Users to analyze and define business requirements and objectives to scope projects and deliverables. They will provide first level support to resolve local SAP issues and address training needs. This is a key position in our global IT Supply Chain & Logistics team, focusing on internal consulting, as well as application support. This role will focus on delivering transformation projects as well as daily support and change management.
Main Responsibilities
- Technical guidance and collaboration with other SAP module specialists in the various client locations (Taiwan, Europe, and USA)
- Coordination and (in certain cases) implementation of SAP projects focusing on supply chain and logistics relevant modules PP, QM, EWM, EAM, MM, and SD.
- Perform fit/gap analysis and design workshops to educate site business colleagues and leadership on standardized and global template processes and SAP functions. Evaluates business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement.
- Work with site (local) BPOs and global BPOs to define blueprints, business requirements, and use cases for globalisation and localisation, as appropriate.
- Design and document solution alternatives that align with local business requirements and global template processes. Collaborate with members of other process, IT business application teams, developers, and IT teams to build the defined solution(s).
- Develop functional specifications for configuration and customization which include reports, integrations, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows (RICEFW) and implement them together with the team or independently.
- Transition the functional and design specifications to the developers for any custom development needs.
- Assist in translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results for functional, integration, user acceptance testing.
- Perform functional unit tests after development is completed.
- Take immediate action to eliminate significant risks to data integrity and to propose actions to eliminate non-conformances or deviations.
Professional Experience & Specific Skills
- A minimum of 7 years' experience as an SAP specialist, engineer, or business analyst.
- Solid knowledge of relevant business processes in SAP logistics modules PP, QM, EAM, EWM, MM, SD.
- A thorough knowledge of intralogistics material flow, quality, manufacturing, and CMO setup.
- Possess the foresight to identify and remedy potential problems before they arise.
- Ability to acquire new knowledge, adapt to and contribute to fast moving environment as a team player.
- Possess strong organizational, analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders site leadership and shop floor personnel alike.
Preferred: (nice to have)
- Ability to document master data processes and procedures for all tasks.
- Experience in pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
Relevant Qualification: (education and training)
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, logistics, manufacturing, or in a related field preferred.
