Resonant Sciences LLC has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing/Tool Design Engineer to join our Dayton, Ohio team. Duties And Responsibilities
We are seeking a Manufacturing/Tool Design Engineer to support the design, development, production, and testing of aerospace structures, radomes, antennas, test fixtures, and electronic systems.
The selected Manufacturing/Tool Design Engineer will have responsibility for the following areas:

Duties And Responsibilities
We are seeking a Manufacturing/Tool Design Engineer to support the design, development, production, and testing of aerospace structures, radomes, antennas, test fixtures, and electronic systems.
The selected Manufacturing/Tool Design Engineer will have responsibility for the following areas:
- Create accurate estimates of tool design and fabrication costs.
- Support requirements definition, conceptual design, preliminary design, critical design, design review presentations, and fabrication from a tooling perspective for multiple programs.
- Design tooling, fixtures, and equipment to support multiple programs and scale manufacturing.
- Create 3-D product structured models and detailed design drawings utilizing CATIA V5.
- Analyze design risks, anticipate and mitigate risks when possible, and report concerns to leadership.
- Provide hands-on technical support on the shop floor during tool fabrication and production start-up.
- Experience with metallic and composite design.
- Coordinate with internal and external suppliers to meet commitments.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
- BS with 5 years of experience in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Experience designing aerospace quality tools such as layup molds, trim/drill fixtures, assembly fixtures, inspection fixtures, and test fixtures.
- Familiar with the materials and processes used in aerospace manufacturing.
- Basic knowledge of CATIA’s composite design suite.
- Experience creating detailed engineering drawings.
- Thorough knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and its use related to drawings.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- BS with 10 years of experience in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with CATIA 3-D CAD software.
- Minimum 5 years of experience designing aerospace quality tools such as layup molds, trim/drill fixtures, assembly fixtures, inspection fixtures, and test fixtures.
- U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance required. Active clearance preferred.
