Medical Referral Clerk

Resolution Think, through its joint venture partnership with Cognito Systems, LLC, are seeking a Referral Clerk to support administrative operations within the military treatment facility at Mountain Home Air Force Base. The ideal candidate will provide professional customer service while assisting patients and staff with referral and appointment coordination.

Location: Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00a - 4:00p

Travel: None

Key Duties

• Answer incoming calls and assist patients and staff with referral-related questions.
• Review and process referrals for completeness and eligibility.
• Schedule and reschedule specialty appointments according to MTF guidelines.
• Process routine, urgent, and emergent referrals within established timeframes.
• Coordinate referrals with outside providers or insurance when services are not available at the MTF.
• Maintain accurate referral documentation in MHS GENESIS and other required systems.
• Educate patients on referral procedures, appointments, and expected timelines.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  
  

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be a US Citizen per contract requirements
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Working knowledge of medical terminology plus one (1) year of administrative experience in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare setting. Referral management, medical scheduling, patient administration, or insurance verification preferred.
• Certifications: Current Basic Life Support certification (AHA or Red Cross) where required by the MTF
• Additional Requirements:
• Demonstrated computer proficiency and keyboarding sufficient to sustain electronic health record workflow.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Favorable employment subject to completion of background, security, and drug screening requirements as stated in contract.
• Willingness to comply with DHA medical screening requirements
