Bindery

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Setup, operate, and efficiently maintain various bindery equipment, which may include Stitcher Trimmers, MBO folders, scoring, and inline gluing equipment.
• Follow job specifications to ensure accuracy and maintain quality level during production.
• Ensure and is accountable for accuracy of product counts, quality, and customer specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and report equipment and supply needs to Finishing Supervisor.
• Communicate and coordinate all job-related information to the appropriate persons. Accurately log job information into the shop data collection system.
• Assign duties to bindery crew members with training and instructions as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

Required: High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred: Technical training in related fields

EXPERIENCE

Required: One (1) or more years’ experience in bindery production.

Preferred: Three (3) or more years’ experience in bindery production

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

Responsible for bindery inventory control and monitoring.

Responsible for communication of production status of all bindery jobs to sales and CSRs.

Responsible for ensuring on time delivery of jobs.

Insures maintenance of all bindery production equipment.

Proven track record of the ability to effectively achieve objectives within specific time constraints.

Sufficient knowledge and experience to operate all bindery machinery on the production floor.

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret, understand and act upon information from operational reports.

Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all direct reports, field personnel, customers and vendors.

Ability to prioritize, manage and ensure timely completion of multiple tasks while maintaining high quality standards.

Knowledge of and ability to ensure adequate inventory is on hand for production needs.

Stand for extended periods of time, bending, reaching, lifting, and crouching
