Production Supervisor 2nd Shift

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Second Shift NX Supervisor is responsible for overseeing production activities and assigning employees on the second shift. This role ensures compliance with applicable standards and regulations, meeting objectives for efficiency, quality, safety, and customer requirements.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Schedule production orders to meet customer requirements and ensure products are built according to current specifications.

Provide daily shift reports to management and escalate quality and safety issues in a timely manner.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to current policies and procedures.

Ensure nonconforming products are properly identified and segregated, and work closely with QA to inspect and verify products.

Train production employees on procedures, machinery, safety, quality, and other topics.

Assist with investigations and recommend improvement options.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as back-up for other supervisory roles when necessary.

Develop and improve policies, procedures, and processes to meet objectives and ensure compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum 3-5 years of production experience, with leadership experience desired.

Experience working with machinery, hand and power tools, and potentially engineering drawings and manufacturing technologies.

Proficiency in computer skills, including Windows and MS Office.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Ability to work hands-on in a production environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Mixed office and production setting with regular interaction with lab, production, and warehouse areas.
