About the Company
Resinate is looking to hire a Staff Accountant to be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of a vertically integrated Massachusetts cannabis company with retail, cultivation, and processing activities. This role ensures the accuracy of financial records across multiple business lines, including high-volume retail transactions and inventory-intensive cultivation and manufacturing operations. This role is required to be on-site in Worcester MA.
About the Role
Working closely with the Controller, the Staff Accountant assists with month-end close, account reconciliations, inventory and cost tracking, A/P or A/R and compliance with cannabis-specific regulations, including seed-to-sale tracking and IRS Section 280E requirements. The position plays a critical role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting reporting, and helping the organization operate efficiently in a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities

- Ensure compliance with cannabis-specific regulations
- Support financial reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a multi-entity, retail, manufacturing, or inventory-driven environment
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, NetSuite), preferably SAP
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (reconciliations, pivot tables, data analysis)
- Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes
- Ability to manage high-volume transactional data with strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience in the cannabis industry or other highly regulated industries
- Familiarity with seed-to-sale systems (e.g., METRC)
- Exposure to inventory and cost accounting
- Understanding of tax considerations related to cannabis operations, including 280E
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus
Pay range and compensation package
Due to cannabis industry regulations, all candidates must be at least 21 years old, receive background clearance, and must be legally eligible to work in the United States. Candidates must be able to work on-site and have reliable transportation. Physical requirements include being able to sit or stand and work on a computer for most of their work schedule. The candidate must also be able to lift/push/pull up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required for this job which includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
