What are the responsibilities and job description for the Overnight Personal Care Assistant position at Residential Transitions, INC?
Hours: 12:30 a.m. to 5:30 a.m.
Location: Chaska, MN
Pay: $20 an hour
Days needed: Monday through Friday
Responsibilities
- Remain in the home throughout the shift and be available whenever assistance is needed.
- Safely assist a client weighing approximately 120 pounds with transfers from her bed to her chair or scooter, to the toilet, and back again.
- Provide assistance with overnight toileting and mobility while respecting the client’s privacy and dignity.
- Respond immediately when the client calls for help by phone. The caregiver must be able to reach her in less than one minute.
Qualifications
- Physically able to safely perform the required transfers without risking injury to yourself or the client.
- Training or experience with lifting, safe transfers, and personal care is strongly preferred.
- Reliable, patient, respectful, and comfortable working independently in a private home.
- Able to wake promptly and respond immediately to a phone call.
Overnight arrangements
Sleeping is permitted between requests for assistance. However, the caregiver must remain reachable by phone and able to wake and provide help in less than one minute. This position requires immediate availability throughout the entire shift.
The client has expressed a preference for a female caregiver because the role includes personal toileting assistance.
