What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plumbing Sales & Service Trainer / Field Performance Coach - Florida position at Residential Plumbing Company?
We are a well-established home services company looking for an experienced Plumbing Sales & Service Trainer who knows how to turn an average plumber into a confident, consistent, high-performing service professional.
We invest heavily in digital advertising to generate customer opportunities. Our technicians must know how to properly run those opportunities — thoroughly inspect the home, identify plumbing problems and opportunities, communicate findings to the customer, and build professional option sheets/proposals.
Your Mission
Train plumbers until they are truly ready to run calls independently.
Think of it like training a pilot: a flight instructor does not release a student to solo until the instructor is confident the student can perform the process correctly.
You will:
- Teach and reinforce the service call process
- Conduct extensive hands-on training and role-playing
- Coach plumbers on inspections, customer communication and option building
- Evaluate technicians before releasing them to run leads independently
- Ride along, observe calls and provide ongoing coaching
- Track performance and hold technicians accountable to the process
You Must Prove It First
We are not looking for a classroom-only trainer.
For your first 2–3 months, you will work in the field and personally run plumbing service calls.
We want you to demonstrate that you can successfully execute the same process you will be teaching. Once you have proven your ability to consistently deliver results, your primary focus will transition to training and developing our plumbing team.
Who We Are Looking For
You should have:
- Strong residential service plumbing experience
- A proven history of producing results in the field
- Experience with service agreements, options-based selling and/or plumbing sales
- Strong communication and coaching skills
- The ability to role-play repeatedly until a technician masters the process
- High standards — you don't release someone into the field simply because they completed training
Candidates from anywhere in the United States are welcome. Relocation to the Tampa Bay area is required.
If you have personally succeeded in residential plumbing service and believe you can teach others to consistently do the same, we want to talk to you.
