PT Weekend Caregiver/DSP

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll play an important role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling, independent lives. You’ll help promote health, safety, and well-being while respecting each person’s choices, dignity, and self-determination.

What You’ll Do

You’ll support individuals with daily living activities, personal care, and community involvement. Every day will look a little different, but your main responsibilities include:

• Health & Wellness:

  • Help with medication administration and attending medical appointments.

  • Support special dietary needs and follow posted menus.

  • Report any unusual incidents and complete documentation accurately and on time.

• Safety & Home Care:

  • Keep the home clean, organized, and safe for everyone.

  • Follow fire safety and severe weather procedures.

  • Safely transport residents to community activities and appointments.

• Personal Support:

  • Assist with communication, emotional, and behavioral needs.

  • Encourage independence, choice, and self-determination.

  • Serve as a positive role model and advocate for residents’ rights.

• Documentation & Compliance:

  • Follow each resident’s Individual Service Plan (ISP).

  • Accurately document services, progress, and any incidents.

  • Manage receipts and records for resident purchases.

• Teamwork & Professionalism:

  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with residents, families, coworkers, and supervisors.

  • Attend trainings and meetings as required.

  • Maintain confidentiality and professional behavior at all times.
