What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supply Chain Manager (Mandarin) position at Residence Supply?
Who are we?
We’re Residence Supply — a design-obsessed lighting & hardware brand that went from scrappy Miami startup to 8-figure monster way too fast. We build heirloom-level pieces for homes that actually matter. Our pieces are featured on Architectural Digest and can be seen in luxury hospitality projects.
Now we’re scaling globally — China, India, Vietnam, Turkey, Mexico — and we're looking for someone that can handle our Asian teams.
What you’ll do:
- Own supplier relationships and communication in China (Mandarin required)
- Own end-to-end order flow: production, timelines, delays, and issue resolution
- Optimize costs: pricing, MOQs, COGS, shipping, and lead times
- Oversee global logistics: freight, customs, and delivery into U.S. warehouse coordination
- Oversee implementation of global warehouse fulfillment system
- Improve fulfillment structure and reduce shipping inefficiencies
- Build systems for inventory, cost tracking, supplier performance, and forecasting
- Create and enforce SOPs across purchasing, logistics, and QC
- Maintain supplier scorecards (quality, speed, reliability)
- Partner with procurement and product teams to support launches and scaling
- Travel between Asia and USA
Who you are:
- Fluent in Mandarin and English
- Proven in sourcing, supply chain, and supplier negotiations
- Strong with numbers, cost, margins, and efficiency focused
- High-agency, spots problems early and solves fast
- AI-native, uses Claude AI and automation to move faster
- Systems thinker, builds scalable processes and workflows
- Comfortable working China hours when needed
- Sharp negotiator, pushes on price, timelines, and quality
- Detail-obsessed and execution-focused
Bonus:
- Experience working with China warehouses or 3PLs
- Experience scaling a DTC or ecommerce brand
- Experience in lighting, furniture, or home goods manufacturing
Compensation:
- $60,000 - $80,000 salary depending on experience
- 10 PTO days per year
- Performance-based raises tied to cost savings and operational improvements
- Growth path into Head of Supply Chain / Operations
