Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the University of Hawaii (UH) Sadowski Lab in Information and Computer Sciences (ICS), located in Honolulu, Hawai'i. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.
Works on artificial intelligence for science applications. Manages data, writes software, and develops statistical models to support the project. Datasets to be downloaded, curated, and managed will include solar physics data, climate model data, satellite and radar data, and historical ground measurements. Software will focus on developing and testing neural networks models. Works directly with individual researchers and research groups at University of Hawai'i. Writes documentation and technical reports; aids in writing scientific papers.
Primary Qualifications
Peer-reviewed publications in applied deep learning. Experience working on GPU computing clusters.

Primary Qualifications

- EDUCATION** PhD from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- EXPERIENCE** One to three (1-3) years of experience in software development and machine learning.
- KNOWLEDGE** Expertise in Python, Numpy, Pandas, and working on a Linux cluster. Working knowledge of deep learning software libraries, and other data science packages.
- ABILITIES and SKILLS** Ability to develop and test software solutions. Ability to work collaboratively in a software development team. Ability to develop and evaluate machine learning models, including deep learning. Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as a willingness to learn.
