About the Role


The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading all procurement and inventory management functions to support operational efficiency and business objectives. This position is a part of the Leadership Team and will be a key contributor in strategically working towards the short and long-term growth and sustainability of Rescue 42. These responsibilities include overseeing sourcing, vendor management, and purchasing strategy while ensuring compliance, cost control, and timely delivery of materials. The Supply Chain Manager partners cross-functionally to align supply chain activities with production schedules, demand forecasts, and company growth initiatives.



Responsibilities


  • Leads, develops, and manages purchasing and procurement activities including supervision of team members
  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing and purchasing initiatives across multiple spend categories
  • Establish and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors to achieve optimal cost and service outcomes
  • Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors
  • Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply risks to inform purchasing decisions, including tariffs if applicable
  • Perform cost analysis, scenario planning, and benchmarking to support financial objectives
  • Forecast demand and ensure appropriate inventory levels to meet production and customer needs
  • Manage and improve lead times, expedite critical materials, and resolve supply disruptions
  • Direct coordination of incoming materials to meet operational requirements
  • Manage non-conforming goods, returns, and corrective actions with suppliers
  • Track and report key performance metrics to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support decision-making
  • Partner with production, engineering, sales, and accounting teams to align supply chain activities with business needs
  • Ensure ERP system accuracy for inventory, purchasing, and material status tracking



Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field
  • 5 years procurement and logistics experience including at least 2 years in a leadership or people management role



Required Skills

  • Strong sourcing and vendor management experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures
  • Solid judgment along with decision-making skills
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Possess strong phone, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to work and excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent multi-tasking and project management experience
  • Well-organized with high attention to detail for data entry and accurate record keeping
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Teams, Fishbowl and Salesforce


Preferred Skills

  • Experience in manufacturing environment
  • Experience with international sourcing and logistics
  • Professional certification (e.g., APICS, CPSM)
