Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Low Voltage Estimator / Project Coordinator to join our team. This role is vital in supporting project planning, cost estimation, and bid management for Access Control, CCTV, and low voltage systems installations. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in low voltage estimating, project coordination, and effective communication with general contractors, clients, and vendors. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth within a dynamic construction environment, contributing to commercial and industrial projects from bid pursuit through project handoff.
Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new project opportunities from general contractors, plan rooms, and other bid sources.
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive low voltage estimates for Access Control, CCTV, and related systems using Odoo ERP.
- Conduct site walks and project assessments to evaluate scope, feasibility, and alignment with company capabilities.
- Collaborate with management and internal teams to develop project scopes, budgets, and bidding strategies.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to gather pricing, equipment specifications, and bid information.
- Review construction plans, specifications, and contracts to identify project requirements, potential risks, or discrepancies.
- Compile comprehensive bid packages with supporting documentation, material takeoffs, and labor estimates.
- Present proposals and bid recommendations to leadership team for review and approval.
- Submit completed bids within required deadlines and maintain communication with general contractors throughout the bid process.
- Assist in the negotiation of contracts, change orders, and scope adjustments to optimize project profitability.
- Monitor bid success rates and maintain detailed documentation of all bids, quotes, and project correspondence.
- Facilitate smooth project handoff to installation teams upon bid award, ensuring accurate information transfer.
- Support project kickoff activities including scheduling coordination and resource planning.
- Maintain organized records within Odoo ERP system for tracking bids, projects, and client communications.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations for new business opportunities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in low voltage estimating and project coordination within the construction or security systems industry.
- Strong knowledge of Access Control systems, CCTV systems, and related low voltage technologies.
- Proficiency with Odoo ERP system or similar estimating and project management software (training provided if necessary).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong knowledge of construction site operations, contracts, cost control, and pricing strategies for low voltage installations.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
- Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and best practices for low voltage systems installation.
- Understanding of construction management practices including scheduling and resource planning.
- Effective communication skills—both written and verbal—to collaborate across teams and with general contractors and clients.
- Construction site experience is preferred but not mandatory; a solid understanding of construction processes and low voltage installation is essential.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation, takeoffs, and cost estimation.
- Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in low voltage estimation or similar role in the construction industry.
- Background in electrical or low voltage systems installation.
- Established relationships with general contractors, suppliers, and vendors in the Pensacola area.
- Knowledge of state and local building codes related to low voltage systems.
Salary Range
$50,000 - $76,000 annually (depending on experience and qualifications)
