We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Civil Construction Estimator / Project Manager to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the planning, estimating, and execution of large-scale civil construction projects. You will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, managing project timelines, and ensuring successful project delivery through effective coordination with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams. Your expertise will drive project success from initial bidding through completion, ensuring quality standards are met while maintaining cost control and schedule adherence.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive construction estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and site conditions using industry-standard software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
- Lead negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing, ensuring competitive bids and profitable projects.
- Prepare detailed project budgets, schedules, and resource allocations to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Oversee construction site activities to ensure work aligns with design specifications, safety standards, and contractual obligations.
- Manage contracts by reviewing scopes of work, change orders, and claims to mitigate risks and control costs effectively.
- Coordinate with project teams to monitor progress, track costs, and implement cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Utilize construction management tools to track project milestones, update stakeholders regularly, and resolve issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating and project management within heavy civil or general construction environments.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid; experience with Bluebeam for document management is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of construction site operations, safety protocols, and contract administration.
- Excellent negotiation skills combined with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.
- Familiarity with cost control strategies, pricing techniques, and project scheduling tools.
- Hands-on construction site experience that provides practical insight into field operations.
