We’re conducting a confidential search for a Controller with a leading Republican political consulting, media, polling, and digital strategy firm based in Annapolis, Maryland.
This is a senior-level leadership role overseeing financial operations across multiple affiliated entities and business divisions. The Controller will work directly with executive leadership to support financial strategy, operational scalability, compliance, and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee accounting and financial operations across multiple entities and service lines
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with strong reporting accuracy
• Prepare financial statements, cash flow reporting, forecasts, and executive-level analysis
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support organizational objectives
• Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial processes
• Coordinate audits, banking relationships, insurance reviews, and external tax partners
• Review federal and state tax filings and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance
• Partner cross-functionally with media, production, polling, and operational teams
• Review financial components of vendor, client, employee, and lease agreements
• Supervise and develop accounting staff while driving accountability and process improvement
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5 years of accounting, finance, or Controller-level leadership experience
• Experience managing multi-entity financial operations and consolidated reporting
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial controls, audits, and regulatory compliance
• Experience overseeing accounting staff and operational finance functions
• Advanced Excel and accounting software proficiency
• Strong communication and organizational skills supporting executive leadership
Compensation:
Compensation varies based on experience, starting at $200k
