Shipping Team Leader-GA

Job Function:

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Shipping Lead will follow all established procedures and policies while leading the day-to-day shipping activities to meet the company goals.

Job Responsibilities:

• Overall responsibility for the plants day-to-day shipping activities including, but not limited to data entry, preparation and distribution of shipping paperwork, scanning integrity, and handling and loading of product within specified parameters.
• Ability to gain an understanding of all RI Systems to support the shipping and transportation functions.
• Maintain material flow ensuring uninterrupted production.
• Assist with leading the departmental safety program, including 5S disciplines and the investigation of all accidents and injuries.
• Train and develop all Shipping personnel.
• Promote and maintain a team environment consistent with company values and principles.
• Lead the shipping team in problem resolution between customers/carriers and plant operations. 
• Maintain trailer log and confirm loads have departed as scheduled.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Able to move trailers with a Yard Dog

Job Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of leadership experience
• Strong oral, written and interpersonal communications skills
• Self-direction and initiative                                                                
• Organizational skills
• Computer Skills-specifically MS-Office and Outlook                                      
• CDL licensing a plus
• 3-5 years shipping experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.
• Experience working with ERP systems a plus

Working Conditions:

• Stand, climb, kneel, bend, twist, and walk 8-12 hours per day.
• Occasionally required to lift- up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
• Indoor Manufacturing Environment
